Maureen Laflin
Maureen Laflin is a distinguished lawyer and the principal at Laflin Mediation. She is on the Idaho Supreme Court’s Family and Civil Mediation rosters and the Federal Court’s roster. She is a frequent presenter on dispute resolution matters and actively works in the Inland Northwest to promote and create ADR opportunities. In 2020, she received the Distinguished Lawyer Award from the Idaho State Bar in recognition of her accomplishments and contributions to the profession.
Professor Emerita Laflin taught at UI College of Law for 29 years. During her tenure, she directed the Legal Aid Clinic for over 20 years, creating and running the College’s Mediation Clinic, directing the weeklong Trial Advocacy Program, and establishing and directing the Northwest Institute for Dispute Resolution. In 2019, she received the Idaho State Bar Family Law Section Award of Distinction for outstanding service and singular achievement by a member of the Idaho legal community in family law matters.
Currently, her primary focus is helping people in conflict to reach resolution. Elected to the Moscow City Council in November 2019, she brings a collaborative approach to problem solving and a long history of listening and responding to community concerns.
